About

Largs is a town in Scotland on the west coast in North Ayrshire near Glasgow. The population of residents is around 11,000 and it is a very popular retirement community. The town has numerous links with the viking heritage and this is celebrated each year with a festival.

The town is named after the Gaelic word for “hillside” because of the high ground east of the community. The beaches are covered with small pebbles that make the waterfront experience pleasant.

The close location to Glasgow means that you can access Largs through Glasgow Airport and then drive to the town. The train line also runs to Largs. If you prefer, you can book a taxi to take you to town.
